Climate Change Explained

This was a collaborative project with the studio and Aakash Ranison, a climate activist, whose goal was to provide facts on the current state of the impact of climate change in simple, easy to understand language.

The on-going temporary climate discourse has been a huge inspiration for us throughout this process. We wanted to capture this energy and seriousness to inspire action in the reader towards a sustainable lifestyle.

A Visual Experience

The book deals with complex (and sometimes grim) content. So, the visual language was designed to bring these concepts alive by simplifying them. Editorial layouts, hand lettering and vibrant collage illustrations make each page interesting and distinct to readers.

The curated colours create a meaningful and cohesive palette. The deep green alludes to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal No. 13, and the red highlights the urgency of climate change, creating a call for action. Soothing blues and light greens balance the use of red and deep green and bring a touch of calm to the visuals.

Every chapter tackled a specific climate issue, and were therefore designed to stand out from the other pages if the reader were flipping through the book looking for something specific.

These pages would also work as creatives that can be used as individual posts or stories on Instagram.

A few pages were designed to be used as standalone posters or creatives too!

A few infographs were also designed to visually explain large amounts of information in one page.
